A photo a day 31st May

Traditional Photography?

This is more of a self promoting post for people who want to escape such focus in their weddings and would prefer more natural emotions.

Rocky Way

As i go through through my old pictures to make a portfolio for my travel/field photography I sift through few interesting pictures from the past. This was taken somewhere on the way to MM hills of Karnataka, a beautiful land of hills and valleys covered with extensive forests. My first steps to Photography with the new dslr started from these lanes. To see more of these do check my profile as I keep adding more on https://www.flickr.com/photos/133639231@N05/sets/72157653397344680

Souvenir struggles

Somehow he hates souvenirs and I just love them. Its like the magic bottle where you fill all your experiences and take it back with you, and the journey stays with you forever. The beautiful puppets made by the villagers and craftsmen in Rajasthan.

The Blue city, Is it?

Coming back to my disappointment with Jodhpur which we all very well know as the blue city is not so blue after all. It is now at the crossroads of modernity and history. The city where I dreamt to go as a photographer to shoot those blue lanes, the turban people and their rich culture, all is lost in the name of development like any other city. We were left disheartened and tired after walking miles and miles in search of those beautiful blue lanes.

Picturesque Windshield

Looks like drives and sunsets have been my favorite subjects to photograph, probably every photographers delight. This photo takes me back a couple of years in the beautiful hills of Masinagudi and some lovely friends.

Floating Clouds

"I float in the unknown like the clouds in the sky, I know I will get sunshine but will I?" beautiful lines suggested by a friend for this picture. It somehow relates to each one of us at some point of our lives when we step into a new career or new phase of life, with this constant fear and struggle in our mind. As I go through a similar mystery in my life, these lines sums it up well.

Sunshine girl

Someone rightly said people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. She came for a reason, we lived an amazing season and will be there for a lifetime.

Waves of mountains

Amidst the mountains of Wayanad we stopped for quick photo of the beautiful landscape. The misty weather, cool breeze, beauty around and drive through these mountains will make you love life even more.

Beauty of Life

"Life doesn't give you the people you want, it gives you the people you need, to love you, to hate you, to break you, to make you the person you are meant to be." In my own life I have been hopeless many a times but every time I fall, i feel lost, its soon taken away by something better. "If God can take away something you never expected losing, he can replace it with something you have never imagined" so the key of life is to never lose hope and some beautiful people like the ones in this picture keep my hope alive.

Beauty of cultures

India as diverse in its culture is a place where Beauty is a happy, boisterous co-existence of tradition, spirituality and ancient rituals on one end of the spectrum, glossy Bollywood-inspired aspirations on the other and many fast-evolving variations in-between. As a photographer I feel privileged when I get to document these beautiful brides and various cultures.

The hanging bridge

This spectacular bridge in KR Puram, Bangalore apparently has bagged the most outstanding national bridge award. Interestingly enough, it is also the reason of most traffic blocks and bottlenecks in that area because of its poor design.

Budding romance

Doesn't this photo remind you of those old Bollywood songs with the sudden focus on flowers just when the hero heroine come closer. This photo is from one of my best pre-wed shoot so far with perfect weather, lights and a couple who were still new to being so close to each other.

Chamunda devi temple

A beautiful sunset view after a tiring and disappointing day at Jodhpur (more about the dissapointment in my next post) just before we headed down from the fort to capture the colors of the blue city merging with the orange sunset sky.

Desert in a beach

Located right in front of our hotel in Krabi in such a way that it offers a beach view in the mornings and in the afternoon as the water level recedes it looks even more serene with the blue sky to add to the beauty.

Baby, you rock

Back from a challenging naming ceremony function with this baby who is just 28 days old named Lakshita meaning distinguished. She already is living by her name. This is my favourite pic from the day where she is all adorned with all the jewels given by her aunties and uncles and with that perfect pose for me.

Queue up for the nuptial knot

A lot has happened in the past few months and I am proud to say that I have successfully covered 7 weddings till now and the best part my clients have been all happy and satisfied. This is actually the main reward of this job. Apart from that I get to see new places and new customs and meet some amazing people and become an important part of their lives forever. One among these weddings was the Guruvayur wedding which would be one of my favorite till now and I would love to shoot more weddings in this auspicious place.

Guruvayur temple is perhaps the only temple where hundreds of people get married in the same day.  People wait for their turn outside the mandapam and the wedding lasts for just few minutes. Not only people from Kerala, but people from other parts of South India come to this temple even after several years of marriage. Its quite a challenging and amusing wedding and I felt privileged to be part of this wedding.

An evening at the penthouse

Now I know why they say maintaining a photo a day blog is very difficult but I would say I haven't given up yet. I am back again with many stories of weddings, cooking, holidays and get-together.

I will start with this lovely photo I took last weekend of this lovely lady in a beautiful penthouse. Friends call her "Vishwamitra" which means friend of the world as she dances and sways her way to everyone's heart right from the first day.
